How Florida Pick 4 (Midday) prizes work

Straight pays when your 4 digits match the draw in exact order. Box pays when they match in any order — a box with all different digits has more ways to win, so it pays less than one with a repeated digit. Straight/Box splits your wager across both. Combo covers every straight ordering at once. Pairs pay when the first two (Front), middle two (Mid), or last two (Back) digits match in position.

Fireball is an optional add-on that doubles your ticket cost. After the draw, one Fireball number is drawn and substituted for each winning digit in turn, giving extra winning combinations. Fireball prizes use the separate (lower) amounts in the table above and are won in addition to any base-game prize.

Amounts are for a single play at the wager shown. Always verify a win with the official lottery before claiming.

Florida Pick 4 box odds — how many ways

There are 10,000 possible 4-digit combinations, so a straight is 1 in 10,000. A box covers more orderings, so it hits more often (for less):

  • 4-way box: wins in any of 4 orders — odds about 1 in 2,500, paying $1,198 on a $1 play.
  • 6-way box: wins in any of 6 orders — odds about 1 in 1,667, paying $800 on a $1 play.
  • 12-way box: wins in any of 12 orders — odds about 1 in 833, paying $400 on a $1 play.
  • 24-way box: wins in any of 24 orders — odds about 1 in 417, paying $200 on a $1 play.
