About WonYet
WonYet exists for one reason: so a winning lottery ticket never goes unchecked. Snap a photo, and we check it and tell you the moment you win.
What WonYet is
WonYet is an independent web app (a Progressive Web App) that checks lottery tickets. You snap a photo of a paper ticket you already bought; WonYet reads the numbers, identifies the game, and saves it. After each saved ticket’s official drawing it compares that ticket’s numbers to the published results and tells you whether you won and how much — in the app, by email, and with push within minutes of results landing. Scratch-offs work too: snap a photo of a scratched ticket and WonYet reads the rules printed on it for an instant read.
Why we built it
Every year, an estimated $1–3 billion in US lottery prizes expires unclaimed — most of it small wins on tickets people assumed were losers and forgot in a drawer. Checking by hand at midnight is easy to get wrong. WonYet makes it automatic, so the question “did I win?” answers itself.
Who’s behind WonYet
Patrick Gilmore, Founder
Patrick Gilmore is the founder of WonYet. He has spent his career in financial technology — currently an IT manager at a fintech firm, with a background as an application developer — and built WonYet to bring that finance-and-software rigor to an everyday problem: small lottery prizes going unclaimed because checking tickets by hand is tedious and error-prone.
What we stand for
- No dark patterns. WonYet is free, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to cancel. Optional emails carry a one-click unsubscribe, and you can delete your account yourself whenever you want.
- No ads, ever. The whole site and app are ad-free — no ad networks, no banners, and nothing following you around the web to sell you something later.
- Privacy first. Your ticket photo is used for exactly one thing — reading your numbers — then discarded immediately; we never store the image. We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising; any analytics is opt-in and you can turn it off anytime. See our privacy policy.
- Honest about limits. WonYet is a fast first look, not an official result. We are not affiliated with any lottery, and we always tell you to verify a win through official channels before claiming. See exactly what we don’t check.
What WonYet is not
WonYet does not sell lottery tickets, accept wagers, or pay out prizes. It is a results checker and reminder service. Play for fun, not for rent — if gambling stops being fun, help is available at the National Council on Problem Gambling or 1-800-GAMBLER.
