Straight pays when your 5 digits match the draw in exact order. Box pays when they match in any order — a box with all different digits has more ways to win, so it pays less than one with a repeated digit. Pairs pay when the first two (Front), or last two (Back) digits match in position.

There are 100,000 possible 5-digit combinations, so a straight is 1 in 100,000. A box covers more orderings, so it hits more often (for less):
