A single ticket sold in Illinois won the $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, ending a 44-drawing run and delivering the biggest lottery prize of 2026.
The winning numbers were 4, 26, 66, 67 and 69, with Powerball 9 and a Power Play multiplier of 2x.

Yes. One ticket, sold in Illinois, matched all six numbers to claim the $1.04 billion annuity prize, according to Powerball. The jackpot ranks as the eighth-largest in game history.
What is the cash option?
The winner may choose a lump-sum cash payment of $450.5 million before taxes, or the full $1.04 billion annuity distributed across 30 graduated payments over 29 years, according to Powerball. Both figures are before federal and state taxes.
