The Lucky Dogz lottery club, made up of two adult siblings and their father, bought a $50 "$8,000,000 Payout" instant-game ticket at the Caseville One Stop Shop on Port Austin Road in Caseville, Huron County. The siblings gave the ticket to their father as a Father's Day present, according to the Michigan Lottery.

How did they discover the win?

The father scratched the ticket himself and, upon seeing the amount, passed it to his children to verify. One sibling then scanned the ticket to confirm the $8 million prize before the club accepted what they were seeing, the Michigan Lottery said.

The $8 million prize is the largest ever awarded on an instant game in Michigan Lottery history, according to the Michigan Lottery. The $8,000,000 Payout game launched on March 3, 2026, and was designed from the start to offer what was then the highest top prize the state had ever put on a scratch-off ticket.

The Lucky Dogz chose the one-time lump-sum payment of approximately $5.5 million before taxes, rather than annual installments for the full $8 million.
